I am a Bath-based artist, calligrapher and stationery designer. Art, in the widest sense, has been a love and obsession of mine for as long as I can remember. Whether creating something of my own or admiring the work of others, the visual world is something I cannot imagine my life without.

​

My creative practice brings together my love of nature, beautiful materials, watercolour painting, illustration and calligraphy, with a particular passion for creating work that feels thoughtful, personal and made to be treasured.

About my paintings

​​

Celebrating nature and place is at the core of the work I do. This has naturally influenced my artwork and my focus on flowers, wildlife and architectural paintings. I love exploring the connection we have with the world around us — both built and natural — and the ways in which these two worlds exist alongside one another.

​

My background in urban design has given me a lasting fascination with the relationship between people, places and nature, and this continues to influence the way I see and paint the world around me.

​

I hope that my artwork, in its own small way, reminds people of how beautiful, delicate and fragile the natural world is, and how important it is for us to look after it and appreciate it. The small yet vitally important elements of the natural world are the building blocks of our whole ecosystem.

About my calligraphy

​

Handwriting is a wonderful, hugely undervalued skill that has the power to convey meaning beyond words. 

​

To me, technology can never replace the human hand. The art of writing is meditative, therapeutic and emotive. Handwritten letters tell a story: the speed at which something was written the form of the letters, and the pen, ink and writing surface all add depth, memory, personality and beauty to text.

​

It is for these reasons that I adore calligraphy and why I am so passionate about sharing it with others. Handwriting, with paper and pen, imperfections and all, is glorious and timeless and something to be kept alive no matter how much the technology we surround ourselves with evolves.

About me

​

I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, artist, calligrapher and stationery designer. Before focusing fully on my creative work, I spent years studying human geography and working in urban design. That experience deepened my fascination with places, landscapes and the relationship between the natural and built worlds — something that continues to influence my artwork today.

​

I love flowers, colour, sunrises, exploring, hiking & jogging, yoga, good food, drinking tea, eating dark chocolate, spending time with those I love, and spending time alone too. I am endlessly curious about the world around me and happiest when I am creating, learning, exploring or simply noticing the small details that make life beautiful.

​

I am a proud resident of Bath, a self-confessed food enthusiast, and someone who believes that a creative life is made up of both the things we make and the way we choose to experience the world.
